Have you ever competed in pageants before?
Yes, when I was younger I was Pre-teen Miss Dakota Prairie two years in a row and Pre-teen Miss West Fargo.
What made you want to compete in the Miss Grand Forks pageant?
I missed competing and I felt like I was old enough to take on a big responsibility like being a teen tile holder.
In a few sentences, tell us about your platform.
My platform is "Reading is essential reach out and read." I really want to help kids establish a good reading routine at a young age. Becoming a good reader is such an advantage as you get older and I hope to help kids find their love of reading.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are Cheer leading, Dance, hanging out with friends, and watching Netflix with my dog.
Tell me about your talent
My talent is dancing to Defying Gravity from Broadways play Wicked. It's very pretty and fun to dance too.
How do you plan to implement your platform in the Grand Forks community?
I am planning to get in contact with local preschools and set up a program where at nights or on the weekends, kids can take home a reading pack and read a couple stories. Have their parents ask them a few of the written questions, to try to engage the kids during the story.
What do you hope to get out of your year of service?
I hope to get a result. I want to see my plan go into action and to see how it plays out. To know that in one year I made a difference in just one childs life would be great.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to be in college learning about something I love, and working hard to find a job in the area I decide on.
What are you most excited about during your year of service?
I am most excited about spreading my platform and making an impact on kids. I am also very excited for state, and meeting all the other titleholders.
What is your favorite food?
My Favorite food is a grinder from Red Pepper.
